Cosplay Rule: NO YAOI/YURI

So this was an issue last year. I'm going to be harsh/blunt/perhaps vaguely unprofessional about this responce to this issue:

In short, last year, there was an entry and they performed yaoi on stage and they did NOT have my approval. I have found a video of that on youtube a while ago, and people have been bashing me about me. There's rumors/statements saying that I approved such act. No I didn't.

Simply put, Cosplay is a PG event. Kissing IS PG, but not when it's done by two girls/boys. You may think differently, but then again, you're not the one dealing with angry parents after. If you wish to see couples of the same gender making out, go to Yaoicon. This is not what Animethon is about. I'm getting really annoyed with some people saying things like "oh well it should be ok, what's the big deal, why are you being so harsh?" etc etc.
No, it is not ok.
Yes, it is a big deal when you have to deal with people yelling at you for 'allowing' such a thing.
Yes, I'm going to be harsh because people don't follow or listen to the damn rules.
No, it is NOT allowed. Period.

This is NOT up for discussion. NO yaoi/yuri skits/performances are allowed in the Cosplay Contest.

I must say that this makes a lot of sense. It is unfortunate but some people are intolerant of yaoi/yuri but that is how it goes. I do agree with this rule, if only because it gives the cosplay director time for more important things. Also, I personally hope this rule will cause people to calm down about the whole yaoi/yuri angle. Myself and a friend were mobbed by yaoi fangirls and it was very annoying.

(Mind you yaoi/yuri fans etc) It's not that I have anything against yaoi/yuri fans or even gays/bi's (in fact I have a lot of gay/bi friends), it's the fact that there are some people out there uncomfortable with it, and having it publically displayed; makes them uneasy. It's really for the viewers that feel uncomfortable with viewing these kinds of act, avoid having to see said act.
Like I said, I don't any anything against that, but personally, I don't like seeing it (PDA in general makes me a little uneasy) and I'm pretty ok with seeing a lot of things. So if an open-minded person like me, isn't comfortale with seeing it, I'm sure people who are really uneasy about it, don't want to see it.

We respect the fact that some like yaoi/yuri. Please respect the fact that we don't want to see it/see you doing it.

Don't you think if there can't be yaoi/yuri kissing there shouldn't be any het kissing? Just to be fair?

I agree with leap-scotch.
I find that if there shouldn't be any same-sex kissing, there shouldn't be any heterosexual kissing on stage either.
Just to make it all around fair, and not to make it seem like it's discriminantory.

It would really make sense as that there should not be any kissing of any sort on stage in general for a pg show. I'd personally not want to see any of that at all, it isn't in any way necessary.

I agree with a lot of the previous comments already. I don't care what your genders are, I personally don't like PDA's beyond hand holding and hugging of any kind.

I'm going to peg hetero-kissing at a quick peck on the lips/cheek; nothing more. No 'make-out' kisses like the yaoi performance last year. That was simple unacceptable.

Yes
